In 1996 Jonathan Cawthorn, owner of Jonsigns, took the opportunity to establish a complete sign company which has progressed rapidly over the last fifteen years.
The original company was based in a small office in Blaydon producing and fitting vehicle graphics. Within a year, due to increased business, the Company moved into a 1000 square foot unit in Transbrittania Business Park. Jonsigns were now able to offer Fabricated Signs, Shop Fascias, Fabricated Metal Letters and Safety Signs as well as Vehicle Graphics and other sign related services.
In January 2003, the business moved completely into a 7,000 square foot premises on Saltmeadows Road in Gateshead. Then in June 2011 Jonsigns moved into its current 16,500 square foot factory to help it cope with a huge increase in shop sign orders from some of its retail customers.
Jonsigns continues to be a success because we have constantly kept abreast of changes in new technology, which has transformed the industry in the last fifteen years.
Our design department work closely with our fabrication department designing new cost effective ways to manufacture and illuminate signage; these new ideas are offered to old and new customers to save them both time and money.
